8-23-10: Please lift up the Foster family in the
death of Pastor Mick’s father, Joe Foster. May the Lord comfort them and give them
His peace and strength at this difficult time.
Calling hours are Tuesday, August 24 from 6-9 P.M. at the Koch
Funeral Home in Scio (at the uptown stop light) Our church will take the bus for calling hours. Meet at
the church at 4:45 P.M.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 25 at 11:00 A.M. at
the funeral home. Burial will be in New Athens which is a distance away. A fellowship
meal will be held afterwards at the New Rumley UMC.
We would like to give a memorial gift for the family from the church. I will take any contributions in the office. There will be an announcement in the bulletin Sunday. had emergency brain surgery Monday in Pittsburgh Pray for the Lord’s healing and His perfect peace as they wait for
pathology results. Pray for God to be in control of all of this and that His
presence will be known and felt. Pray for the medical staff in their

Goudy and two children, Alex 8 and Kira 5 were killed in an automobile accident in Canton. Alex just completed 2nd grade at Damascus Elementary. His sister Kira was to start kindergarten in Sept.
8-17-10: Please lift up the family of Peter Mingo of Canton who also died as a
result of the accident.

Alliance . Pray for God to guide the hands of Dr. Roholt during the
surgery and for Glenn to be calm and have the Lord’s peace.
8-16-10: Lift up Bruce & Nancy Slagle’s son, Dave, who was in a terrible motorcycle accident & was life flighted to Chicago . He has bleeding
on the brain and is not doing well. Slagles are neighbors of Ray
and Mary Kay Heverly. Pray for the medical staff as they treat him,
healing for Dave, and comfort and strength for his parents as they wait by his

University of Findlay (where Amanda is attending) band
student, found out today that his best friend, Bob who was 18 years old, died
today of a heart attack. Please pray for Bob's family, other
students and Tommy and his family.

8-4-10: Please lift up Dina Sprague in prayer. Last evening she couldn’t talk and her arm was numb. She was treated in the emergency room. There are no signs she had a stroke, but this could be a warning sign. Her blood pressure was high. She is on a new medicine for blood pressure and is feeling better today. Pray for this new medicine to work effectively. Pray for wisdom for the doctor in a follow up visit. Pray for strength, rest, and God’s perfect peace for Dina and her family. In Him, Barb
8-4-10: A co-worker just informed me of a prayer need. Nathan a seven year autistic from the Youngstown area has drown. Please keep the Kinderdine family in your prayers. He has a four year old and two year old twin siblings. The family is very distraught as you can well imagine. Please pray for comfort, understanding and peace. 8-3-10: I have an unspoken prayer request for a broken family who is
in desperate need of prayer. Please pray for God to intervene and that
forgiveness and trust to be begin anew. This situation is going to take a
miracle to resolve which we know is possible with our Lord and Savior. In

8-2-10: Please lift up the Playground Fundraising Festival. It is scheduled for August 21 1:00-3:00. God shared this idea with Kristi Wright and she has accepted the call to put it in action. Please lift up Kristi as she continues to seek God's will and looks to Him for the strength to oversee such a project. Many hands are needed to make this festival a success, now during the development stage and also on the day of the festival. Pray that people will be willing to help. Pray for people to come to the festival. Pray that above all God will be glorified and honored. Pray that people may come to know Christ because of seeing His love in all of us at DUMC. Thanks, Chris
8-2-10: Donna Lutz called asking for a prayer request. Adam Niederhiser is at basic training and is allowed limited contact with family and friends. He is only allowed to receive letters and cards so please spread the word and send a card now and another at a later date. He will be in training until August 28. Please pray for God to protect, guide and support him through this basic training session. Let Adam feel God's presence with him and for him to know that he is not alone.
